Zimbabwe Will Host ICC Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifiers Matches

The responsibility of hosting the Cricket World Cup 2023 qualifiers has been entrusted to Zimbabwe. The World Cup 2023 qualifiers will be played from 9 June to 18 July 2023. After that, it will be known which teams have qualified for the World Cup 2023. India will host the One Day International World Cup 2023. World Cup 2023 matches will be played in India from October to November 2023. The ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 is the 13th edition of the One Day International match, which will be played in India. In the past, India has hosted the World Cup of One Day International matches thrice, which was held in 1987, 1996, and 2011 in India.

Like the previous edition’s ICC ODI Men’s world Cup, this tournament will also have ten teams. The main route for qualification to participate in the World cup 2023 will be from the Super League tournament of 2020–23 ICC Cricket World Cup. For the World Cup 2023, thirteen of the Super League competitors will be the top seven sides and host (India) eligible. The remaining teams will have five teams, with five teams playing in the qualifiers of the Cricket World Cup 2023, along with the associate sides, two of which will go through the final tournament.

ICC’s Head of Competition Chris Tetley says, “When we decided to hold the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in October-November 2023 which is going to be held in India, this will allow us to organize qualification competitions. Time has also been found. In this, we have tried to make the best use of the opportunity to ensure the teams playing in the tournament. We have included 96 ODIs and 60 List-A matches to reach the World Cup in 2023. We have again worked closely with our members and stakeholders to create the program and our competitions will be the priority for the safety of the players of the participating team.
